3. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will take a leading role in building a strong content system around the USSF platform.

  • Lead Content Strategy: Develop and document the overall content strategy, including voice, tone, structure and delivery standards.
  • Design Content Models: Work with developers and CMS administrators to create scalable and reusable content structures using Directus, a headless CMS.
  • Build Governance & Standards: Establish editorial standards, style guides and publishing workflows that help distributed contributors maintain quality and consistency.
  • Enable Contributors: Train and support USSF personnel who contribute content. Create playbooks, templates and onboarding resources.
  • Content Design & UX Writing: Work alongside UX designers to create clear interface copy, microcopy and task-based content that is accessible and easy to use.
  • Audit & Optimize: Conduct content audits, user research and stakeholder interviews. Use analytics to identify opportunities to improve engagement and effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent content during product planning, sprint cycles and stakeholder reviews while advocating for user-centered and plain-language communication.
