1. About the Opportunity

Company: Japa Partners

Location: Ogba, Lagos, Nigeria (Hybrid)

Salary: Competitive

Japa Partners is an education, travel and immigration consultancy that helps Nigerians explore opportunities to study, travel and relocate abroad. The company needs an experienced Visa Specialist to manage client applications from the first assessment through submission and follow-up.

This role is suited to someone who understands that a strong application is more than a stack of documents. It takes careful assessment, clear writing, accurate paperwork and honest advice about eligibility and possible risks.

💡 Career tip: When tailoring your CV, highlight the visa categories and destinations you've actually handled. Specific, truthful examples are more convincing than a long list of generic skills.

2. What You'll Do

As the Visa Specialist, you'll help clients understand their options and ensure their applications are organised, accurate and ready for submission. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assess client profiles and advise on visa eligibility and suitable application routes.
  • Prepare and review study, visit and work visa applications for Canada, the UK and other destinations.
  • Draft statements of purpose, cover letters and letters of explanation.
  • Coordinate biometrics, submissions and application follow-ups.
  • Review visa refusals, identify possible weaknesses and plan appropriate reapplications.
  • Stay informed about changes to immigration rules and application requirements.

The strongest candidates will be organised, thoughtful communicators who can manage several files without losing sight of small but important details.

💡 Interview tip: Prepare one or two examples of how you organised a complex application, spotted a documentation gap or handled a refusal review. Protect client confidentiality when discussing your experience.

3. What You Need

To be considered, applicants should meet these requirements:

  • At least 2 years of hands-on visa processing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IRCC and UKVI requirements.
  • Excellent written English and strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple client files and meet deadlines.

Before applying, make sure your CV clearly shows your relevant experience, the visa application types you've worked on and your familiarity with the applicable processes.

💡 CV tip: Put relevant visa-processing experience near the top of your CV. Use concise bullet points that explain what you handled, the destinations or visa categories involved, and the work you personally completed. Never include confidential client details.
